Q: What will we be doing at this workshop?

• A: We will be filming and editing a music video which will include a performance AND a dance component. Everyone will take part in capturing and editing the final product so it will be a very “hands-on” experience. We will learn to dance with the subject so as to create a video that captures the same feeling while discussing dozens of other practical applications for videos of all other shapes and sizes.

Q: What is your personal experience with video production?

• A: In the last 6 years, I have gone from knowing absolutely nothing about video production to building a comfortable living as a freelance videographer. My videos for various artists have over 22 MILLION views across YouTube and we are currently in high demand. I have no formal training in video production and have learned everything I know from mentors, YouTube, and a LOT of trial and error. I will be teaching you things that actually work in the field, not lofty theories from 500 page textbooks. I’ve simplified my process and it works every time. That’s what I’ll be teaching.

Q: Will the event be recorded?

• A: Yes! Everything we teach will be recorded and sent as an added online learning resource for you after the Workshop is completed. This is included with the cost of the Workshop to all registrants and will be available a few weeks after the Workshop is completed.

Q: Should I attend if I have no previous experience with Video production?

• A: This class is designed to take someone from an intermediate to a pro. While an absolute beginner can certainly learn plenty from this workshop, we will be moving pretty quickly between topics and a beginner might struggle with our pace.

Q: What topics will be covered at this Workshop?

• A: We will discuss every component of planning and executing a successful video shoot and edit as well as how to do video production as a full time business. We will also leave ample time for questions to be asked about any of these components. Specifically we will discuss, Planning, Scripting, Shooting, Pricing, Editing, Color Grading, Budgeting, Delivery, Gear, and anything else that sounds fun to discuss!

Q: Do I need to own my own business to participate?

• A: Not at all! I am hoping that this workshop provides the practical, foundational knowledge and wisdom needed to begin creating videos professionally, either for yourself or for another organization.

Q: Are meals provided each day?

• A: Yes! We will provide a light breakfast each morning as well as a full lunch catered to your dietary needs. We will also have drinks and snacks available throughout each day for those that are partial to snacking.

Q: Do I need to bring my own laptop with editing software?

• A: No, but it would be helpful. We will be demonstrating the editing process from a projection screen using the Adobe Premiere CC editing software. We encourage everyone to bring a laptop with Adobe Premiere CC installed (There is a 7-day free trial if you don’t already own it). For those that do not have a laptop, we can seat you near those who do. We will also record the editing process so you can watch it back later at your home/work computer.

INVESTMENT

We are charging $595 for the event to cover the cost of the venue, production costs, and food throughout all 3 days. The good news is that you’ll be able to comfortably charge $595 for your next video production if you learn to apply what you learn at this workshop. For context, we charge $2,000 on average and we have charged up to $6,600 on corporate videos and we want to get you there and beyond!
